Fresh cut flowers may be placed on the graves at any time – flowers will be removed when they become withered. (Flower vase holders are available at various locations on the cemetery grounds at Northern and Southern. Central they are available adjacent to the maintenance building next to the cemetery.)
Artificial flowers may be placed on graves November 1st through March 15th. Floral items will be removed from the graves as soon as they become faded and unsightly.
Planting of flowers, shrubs, etc. is prohibited.
Statues, vigil lights, flags, flag standards, etc. and any type of commemorative items are not permitted on graves except for flags placed on the graves by the cemetery staff.
No grave blankets are allowed at any time.
Holiday wreaths may be permitted from November 1st through March 15th. Due to snow conditions, wreaths must be on a stand. Stands are not provided by the cemetery.
Floral items and other types of decorations are not to be secured to the headstone, marker or columbarium niche markers.
While they are not suggested, potted plants will be permitted on the gravesite for a period of 10 days before and 10 days after Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, and Father’s Day. Potted plants will not be permitted at any other time.
Florists will not be permitted to deliver flowers to a grave without removing all boxes, wrapping paper or other packaging material.
Small flags will be placed on graves by designated personnel one day before Memorial Day and removed ten days thereafter.
The adoption and enforcement of these policies and regulations are necessary to secure uniformity, protect the interest and to preserve the beauty of the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemeteries and the final resting-places of those entrusted to our care.
