Wisconsin Veterans Home at King Continues Tradition of Commitment to the Veterans Community
Moore Named Acting Commandant
(KING) – In continuing more than a century-long tradition of ensuring quality long-term care at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King for Wisconsin veterans and their spouses, Jackie Moore was named Acting Commandant on August 27, 2009. Ms. Moore has been with the King Home for the last 12 years. During that time she has quickly been recognized as a strong and dedicated leader. She most recently served as Deputy Commandant and has previous experience with the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King as the Adjutant and Dietetic Services Director.
“I’m pleased to announce that former Deputy Commandant Jackie Moore is serving as Acting Commandant of the King Home,” said Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary John A. Scocos. “Under her leadership, the Home’s day-to-day operations have been carrying on successfully.”
Acting Cmdt. Moore has a master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences and holds a nursing home administrator license, which she acquired in 2007. “I am committed to the members of the Home and the employees who serve them. I look forward to continuing the work which has distinguished this home as one of the best in the nation. We are all proud to be a part of the strong King community, honoring our veterans for their service to our country each and every day,” Moore said.
The Wisconsin Veterans Home at King is located on 320 acres near the City of Waupaca on beautiful Rainbow Lake. The Home provides skilled nursing and memory care on a picturesque and historic campus. It is one of the largest and most independent skilled long-term care facilities in the United States. The Home provides care to approximately 700 members including veterans and spouses.
