New Skilled Nursing Facility to be Dedicated at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove

(MADISON) -- Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary John A. Scocos will join Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle, The Honorable William W. McLemore, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Intergovernmental and International Affairs of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and Racine County Executive Bill McReynolds in a dedication ceremony at the Veterans Home in Union Grove.

The ceremony will take place on Armed Forces Day -- Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. on the Veterans Home grounds, located at 21425 D Spring Street, Union Grove (see directions below).

The dedication ceremony will include the naming of the new 120-bed Skilled Nursing Facility as "Boland Hall" in honor of former WDVA Secretary Raymond G. Boland, on the campus of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove.

Tours of the new facility and an open house will follow the dedication ceremony.

From Hwy 90, Hwy 894/45, Hwy 11, or Hwy C, go to Spring St. to enter the WVH-UG grounds (watch for signs) and take Gansner Drive in towards the center of the campus, about one-half mile.
