State to Hold Veterans Campus Outreach Event at UW - Whitewater

(MADISON) – The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and the UW-Whitewater will co-host an outreach event – an on campus Veterans’ Benefits Open House – on the UW-Whitewater campus on Monday, September 15, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to provide information on and assistance with federal and state veterans’ education and other benefits, programs and services. The location will be the Hamilton Center in the University Center.

WDVA staff and school veterans’ officials will provide information and be available to discuss federal and state education programs and veterans’ benefits, programs and services and assist veterans in applying. Local County Veterans Service Officers will be on hand, along with representatives from the Wisconsin National Guard, and health care staff from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Current and prospective student-veterans and veterans from the surrounding areas, as well as their families, are encouraged to attend.

In September and October similar events have been planned for UW campuses in Madison, Oshkosh, Whitewater, Milwaukee and Eau Claire, and at Technical College campuses in Madison, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Appleton and Eau Claire.
