State to Hold Veterans Campus Outreach Event at FVTC-Appleton
(MADISON) – The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and the Fox Valley Technical College – Appleton will co-host an outreach event – an on campus Veterans’ Benefits Open House – on the FVTC - Appleton campus on Thursday, September 18, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to provide information on and assistance with federal and state veterans’ education and other benefits, programs and services. The location is 1825 N. Bluemound Drive, Entrance 10, Room E130, Appleton campus.
WDVA staff and school veterans’ officials will provide information and be available to discuss federal and state education programs and veterans’ benefits, programs and services and assist veterans in applying. Local County Veterans Service Officers will be on hand, along with representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Wisconsin National Guard, and health care staff from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Current and prospective student-veterans and veterans from the surrounding areas, as well as their families, are encouraged to attend.
In September and October similar events have included the UW campuses in Madison, Oshkosh, Whitewater, Milwaukee and Eau Claire, and at Technical College campuses in Madison, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Appleton and Eau Claire.
