Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs to host Veterans Day Ceremony at Union Grove
(MADISON) -- Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) Secretary John A. Scocos announces that Veterans Day ceremonies will take place throughout the state on Saturday, November 11th, with the theme this year of "Thankful Remembrance."
"Veterans Day is a day to honor and pay special tribute to those who have served their nation in military service, as well as those currently serving," said Scocos. "They deserve our thanks and remembrance for their service, from World War II veterans to our servicemembers returning from and still serving in Iraq and Afghanistan."
Locally, there will be an 11:00 a.m. ceremony on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (SWVMC).
