WDVA began the biennial process in 2007 of developing the next biennial budget request. After receiving recommendations from the Board, and from veterans organizations, veterans and the public during WDVA’s Stakeholders Conference held on July 29, 2008, the department prepared its full budget request.
The Department presented the final budget request to the Board at its regularly scheduled meeting on August 15, 2008. The Board gave final approval to the WDVA Budget Request on September 11, 2008, and it was then sent to the Governor for review. The Governor’s recommendation’s for the State of Wisconsin 2009-11 Biennial Budget will be provided to the Legislature in early 2009, and the Legislature will then consider the overall state Budget. The Legislature’s final budget is due to the Governor by June 30, 2009.
