The Veterans Homes at Chippewa Falls, King and Union Grove, provide services and living assistance to the veterans and their spouses who live there. These Homes employ a wide variety of health care, social work, food service, and related positions; in both the classified civil service system and on a limited-term basis.

Both homes also have opportunities for temporary employment. These temporary positions, referred to as Limited Term Employment (LTE) jobs, are limited to 1043 hours in a year and may be either full-time or part-time. Working an LTE job may provide valuable work experience and an opportunity to explore different types of employment at WDVA. Additional specific position information

We seek dedicated individuals to join our diverse team of staff providing dietary services to Wisconsin Veterans residing in our facilities at King and Union Grove.

Duties

King:  Depending on the specific position, duties may include portioning product, vegetable cleaning and preparation, preparing food and beverages; pouring and capping coffee; assembling nourishments and snacks; tray line preparation; bagging flatware, warewashing, and sanitation; and delivery and meal pick up. Some positions specialize in the transportation of cook-chill food service carts from the Central Kitchen area to the various residential halls through a network of underground tunnels.

Union Grove:  Responsible for interpreting diet orders to serve standard and modified meals on tray lines in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Additional duties may include assisting with quantity food production, performing breakfast or grill cooking, transporting food carts between kitchen and serving areas, and participating in catered functions.

We seek service-oriented Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team of health care professional employees dedicated to providing services to Wisconsin Veterans who call our facilities at King and Union Grove home.

Duties

Provide direct patient care on a unit and shift to ensure quality member care. Assist the Registered Nurse in making critical observations of clients, providing clinical assistance in personal care, treatments, and medication administration and documentation. Participate in the management of indirect care and maintenance of assigned unit or building. Participate in activities which facilitate the development and achievement of unit, building, bureau and facility goals and objectives.

We seek dedicated, service-oriented individuals to join our team of health care professional employees providing services to Wisconsin Veterans and their families. Our Nursing Assistant staff serve as the first line care providers for the elderly/frail population who call our facilities at King and Union Grove home.

Duties

Assist members with the activities of daily living: personal hygiene and care, maintain cleanliness of member living areas, serve food cafeteria style, supervise members activities, administer medications (at Assisted Living), complete member charting and recordkeeping, and provide supportive services to terminally ill members and their families.
